Facebook now wants to help its users change their statuses from single to in a relationship.

Facebook is soon to launch a new feature later this year that will allow active users to create a dating profile. Users will be able to match potential love interests. This was announced by the company’s CEO Mark Zuckerberg at the annual F8 conference held in San Jose on Tuesday.

Looks like the dating app is up to compete with other dating platforms like Tinder, OKCupid, Bunble and more.

“This is going to be for building real, long-term relationships — not just for hookups,”

Mark Zuckerberg

Existing users can create separate dating profile separate from an individual Facebook profile. Friends of the user won’t be able to see it. In addition you’re a user finds potential matches based on preferences and things common. Also you can search for others based on the groups they are part and events they are interested.

Keep your fingers crossed for all the future updates about the Facebook dating App.
